Trio for Oboe, Horn, and Harp

Trio for Oboe, Horn, and Harp was commissioned in honor of the marriage of a hornist and oboist of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.  The horn and oboe are featured with flowing, intertwined melodies in a light, Celtic mode, mirroring the Celtic influences in the honored musicians’ wedding ceremony. Romantic in both style and subject, the music reflects the warmth and depth of lifelong love.  The opening theme is present throughout the work, developing through varying sections that encapsulate tenderness and affection, and light-hearted playfulness.
