Glass Antiphony
Glass Antiphony is inspired by the vision of an empty cathedral with its grand arches and dazzling windows; the rituals and ceremony it was built for are mere echoes in its vacant interior. The music is designed to reflect both its silent, haunting beauty and its imposing scale. The trumpets, those typical heralding instruments, are set to work in a familiar fanfare-like style but with a twist: rather than a proud forte, the fanfare themes are muted and distant. The piano is used to add depth and a complimenting sparkle in this highly interwoven piece.
